About Ledgerfort Accounting

In Sri Lanka: audit & assurance, chartered-accountancy-led services, accounting, bookkeeping and business consultancy. Internationally — in India, Hong Kong, China, the UAE including Dubai, and Malaysia — we provide remote bookkeeping support only. See the services hub and the international bookkeeping hub for the full picture of each side.

Our office is at No. 5, Major Ajith Gunathilaka Mawatha, Dehiwala, Sri Lanka. We serve businesses across Sri Lanka from there, and support our five international markets entirely remotely from the same office — we have no overseas branches. Directions and contact details are on the contact page.

Ledgerfort Accounting was established in 2016. The website and digital presence are newer — we are expanding them so clients and businesses can access information about our services more easily — but the practice itself has operated since 2016. More background is on the about page.

Ledgerfort Accounting’s leadership brings more than 10 years of professional experience and has served more than 80 companies. That experience spans accounting and related professional services, and it shapes how every engagement is scoped, reviewed and delivered. You can read more on the about page.

Owner-managed SMEs, companies requiring statutory audit, growing businesses that need reporting discipline, and finance teams that need dependable outsourced capacity — in Sri Lanka. Internationally we support businesses of similar profiles with remote bookkeeping only. The Sri Lanka hub describes who we serve in detail.

Email info@ledgerfortaccounting.com, use the form on the contact page, or start with the consultation page, which explains what to include in an enquiry. Email is currently our confirmed direct communication channel.

Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Sri Lanka time (Asia/Colombo). We are closed on Sundays. Enquiries submitted outside these hours are answered when the office reopens.

Accounting & Bookkeeping in Sri Lanka

Bookkeeping records what happened — transactions, reconciliations, receivables and payables. Accounting interprets those records: preparing financial statements, applying professional judgement and producing reporting others can rely on. Most businesses need both, scoped separately. Our bookkeeping and chartered accounting pages explain each.

If your records are behind, your reconciliations are irregular, or decisions are being made on guesses rather than numbers — yes. Clean monthly records are the foundation for everything else in your finances, from bank facilities to audits. Describe your situation on the consultation page and we will tell you plainly.

Yes. We assess what exists, agree a documented opening position, then organise and bring the existing records up to date before switching to a normal monthly rhythm. Incomplete records are a normal starting point for this engagement, not an embarrassment. See the bookkeeping service.

Typically bank and card statements, sales and purchase invoices, and whatever prior records exist — complete or not. We confirm the exact list at scoping and set up an agreed secure channel for sharing documents, so nothing sensitive travels through ordinary email attachments.

Monthly, as a working minimum. A monthly close keeps reconciliations honest, surfaces cash problems while they are small, and means year-end work starts from order rather than archaeology. We agree the cadence in writing and hold to it — a close date should be a promise, not a hope.

Yes — it is one of our preferred arrangements. We absorb the repetitive ledger work on a fixed cycle while your team keeps ownership, judgement and oversight. Records stay in an agreed structure your people can inspect at any time.

We collect only what the engagement needs, restrict access to the engagement team, use an agreed secure channel for document exchange, and treat confidentiality as a professional obligation rather than a courtesy. The privacy policy explains how website enquiries specifically are handled.

Use the consultation page and tell us your transaction volume and the state of your records — honestly. You will receive an enquiry reference, and we respond during business hours with questions or a clear next step and a written scope.

Audit & Chartered-Accountancy-Led Services

Yes. Ledgerfort Accounting provides Audit & Assurance services in Sri Lanka under chartered-accountant-led professional oversight. Before accepting an engagement, we confirm its scope, the condition of the available records and the applicable professional requirements privately with the client. Audit clients and accounting clients are kept strictly separate for independence reasons. The audit & assurance page explains the engagement in full.

Enough to understand your entity and agree terms: financial statements and trial balance, ledgers and reconciliations, statutory records, and details of significant judgements. A full, entity-specific list is provided at planning — well-organised records genuinely shorten the audit.

Reconcile every bank account, organise supporting documents, resolve unexplained balances, and have the people who manage the records available for questions. Preparation is largely about order, not sophistication — auditors work fastest from records that explain themselves.

It depends on the entity’s size, complexity and the condition of its records, so we do not quote generic durations. A realistic timetable is agreed in the engagement letter after scoping, with information requirements fixed up front so delays surface early rather than at the deadline.

Companies requiring a statutory audit, following the appointment process applicable to them. The practical route is a confidential conversation about your entity and timetable first; if both sides proceed, appointment follows through the proper process. Start via the consultation page.

No. Audit and assurance are provided in Sri Lanka only. International support is limited to remote bookkeeping — we maintain organised records that your locally appointed auditor can review, but the audit itself always belongs to a locally authorised professional. See the international hub.

Business Consultancy

Leadership-delivered, financially grounded advice: understanding performance and margins, improving financial discipline, and decision support when a significant business choice is in front of you. It starts from your numbers, not generic strategy talk, and every engagement has a written scope. See the business consultancy page.

Owners and managers who want a grounded second opinion — businesses facing a pricing, expansion or investment decision, or ones whose finances work but whose financial discipline does not. If what you need is actually a different service, we say so plainly at the first conversation.

Yes, where those processes concern how the business plans, records, controls and reviews its money — that review is a common consultancy starting point. The findings come back as practical steps, with honest limitations stated rather than glossed over.

No. Business consultancy is provided within Sri Lanka only. In our international markets — India, Hong Kong, China, the UAE including Dubai, and Malaysia — we provide remote bookkeeping support exclusively, and we keep that boundary strictly.

No. Business consultancy does not include legal advice, investment advice, regulated financial advice, tax opinions, company-secretarial or licensing services. Where a matter needs a licensed specialist, we tell you plainly and you appoint one — we would rather send you to the right professional than stretch a boundary.

International Bookkeeping

Five: India, Hong Kong, China, the UAE including Dubai, and Malaysia. Each market has its own page describing who the service suits and how it works — start from the international bookkeeping hub. We do not claim service coverage in any other country.

Remote bookkeeping support: transaction recording, bank and card reconciliations, receivables and payables records, catch-up bookkeeping and clear monthly summaries — plus organised records your locally appointed professionals can review and rely on.

Yes, entirely. All international work is delivered from our office in Dehiwala, Sri Lanka. We have no overseas offices, branches or local registrations in any market, and we state that openly on every country page rather than implying a local presence.

Outside Sri Lanka, Ledgerfort Accounting provides remote bookkeeping support only. We do not provide local audit, tax, legal, licensing, company-secretarial, investment or regulated financial-advice services in those markets. Clients appoint locally authorised professionals for those matters, and we coordinate with them when authorised.

No — and we would decline an engagement framed that way. Your local accountant, auditor and tax adviser keep every responsibility that requires local authority. We maintain the bookkeeping layer beneath their work, and with your authorisation we hand records to them directly.

Bank and card statements, sales and purchase documentation, and whatever ledger history exists. At onboarding we agree one secure document channel and a fixed schedule, confirm the exact list for your business, and set the opening position in writing.

Yes. We assess what exists, agree a documented opening position, and bring the records up to date from there before settling into a monthly rhythm. Messy starting points are normal in international engagements — they are usually the reason businesses come to us.

Through one secure channel agreed at onboarding, on a fixed schedule — never as loose email attachments of sensitive financial data, and never through the website’s enquiry form, which deliberately accepts no file uploads.

By email, with clear monthly summaries and questions raised as they arise rather than saved for year-end. We respond during our business hours — Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM Sri Lanka time — and agree the communication rhythm in the engagement scope.

Use the consultation form and choose your market — international enquiries are handled as remote bookkeeping support. Describe your volumes and the state of your records, and you will receive a reference and a plain written response.

Starting an Engagement

You receive an enquiry reference immediately and an acknowledgement email confirming receipt. Our team reads the enquiry properly and responds during business hours with either clarifying questions or a clear next step. The consultation page describes the full sequence.

Yes — an initial conversation about your situation is how every engagement starts. Any fees for formal work are agreed in writing before that work begins, so there are no surprises between the conversation and the engagement.

In writing, always. After the initial conversation we set out what is included, what is excluded, the timetable, the information we need from you and the fee basis. Work begins only after both sides have agreed that scope.

Fees depend on the scope of work, the condition of your records, transaction volume, complexity and the level of professional involvement required. We quote in writing after scoping, before you commit — we do not publish generic packages because generic packages misprice real situations.

A short description of your business, roughly how many bank accounts and monthly transactions you have, the state of your records — honestly — and any deadline driving the enquiry. You do not need to prepare documents; those come later through a secure channel.

No, please do not. The form deliberately accepts no file uploads, and we ask you not to include bank details, passwords or identity documents in the message. If records are needed, we arrange an approved secure method with you directly.

No. Submitting an enquiry starts a conversation, nothing more. A professional engagement exists only after scope, acceptance and terms are agreed in writing by both sides — and we will always be explicit about when that point is reached.

Yes — a thank-you page shows your enquiry reference immediately, and an acknowledgement email repeats it along with our business hours. If the confirmation does not arrive, check your spam folder or email info@ledgerfortaccounting.com directly.
